Energy system of the future
To reach the EU target of climate neutrality in 2050, offshore energy hubs are an absolute necessity for reaching this ambitious goal.
The change in the EU energy supply and distribution system is at such a significant scale, that it is required that the supply chain, developers, TSOs, designers, research institutes and regulators at national and EU level must come together to identify the challenges and put programmes in place to solve these.
Energy Island Forum will through its members drive the development of the technological, regulatory and societal innovations required to make the offshore energy hubs financially viable, integrable in the European energy system to deliver a renewable and reliable flow of energy, electrons or molecules, with necessary cybersecurity protection for European consumers. Energy Island Forum will work to secure political support and funding for the innovation and development projects that are resulting from the work of the Energy Island Forum members.
