A group of very enthusiasticstudents from Roskilde University are currently working on different projects around green transition and local development on Bornholm.
The students have presented their preliminary results from their fieldwork to representatives from the local community, many of whom they have interviewed during a stay on the island.
Their very relevant topics all have Bornholm as a starting point and are:
- Circular economy – 100% recycling of bricks
- Aqua economy – Bornholm in change: identity and future in the transition of the sea
- Agriculture and environment – green transition opportunities for swine production
- Green energy – “It is okay in my backyard”: citizen perspectives on Energy Island Bornholm
- Sustainable food – Local food supply on Bornholm: a meal experiment
- Nature management – Local support for nature-based transition in the Bornholm Highlands
Climate adaptation
The students also visited Rønne Gl. Elværk as Roskilde University is also a partner in Residential College Bornholm.
The students are enrolled in the master’s program in Sustainable Transition (TekSam).
The visit to Bornholm is supported by the European Union and the Danish Board of Business Development.
