Baltic Energy Island
Together we develop solutions for energy islands. We transform the island of Bornholm into the green hub in the Baltic Sea. But our vision extends beyond that. At Baltic Energy Island we will innovate the global energy system.
Together, we innovate the global energy system
Connecting the countries in the Baltic Sea
Bornholm Energy Island will be the first hybrid energy island in the world. Offshore wind farms of three gigawatts will deliver power to Denmark and Germany via the island of Bornholm.
Bornholm Energy Island is not only central to the green transition. The project also provides cheaper electricity and is a crucial step towards ensuring Danish, German, and European energy independence.
Denmark has been a frontrunner in the green transition. Building on global cooperation we have developed the technologies, implemented them in our energy system and exported them to the rest of the world. Baltic Energy Island will continue this tradition taking us closer to a 100 percent sustainable and data driven energy system.
